Now let’s look at what differentiates these auto vacuum cleaners. One of the main difference between the iRobot Roomba 770 and the Neato xv-21/iRobot Romba 630 is that the 770 has an infrared remote control. An infrared remote control can come in handy when the machine gets stuck somewhere in the house. Also you cannot schedule the 630 to clean while you are away. But the 770 and Neato can be schedule to clean for a week.

Another notable difference is the kind of filters they use. The iRobot Romba 770 uses the HEPA filter, the iRobot Romba 630 uses an aerovac filter and the Neato uses the Neato robotic pet and allergy filter. In terms of quality and durability the HEPA filter beats all others. Again, the iRobot Romba 770 can auto clean a very dirty area with it ‘s persistent pass cleaning pattern. The 630 doesn’t have this, while the Neato XV-21 scans the room and gives it a good back and forth clean.

With the iRobot Romba 770 , you can create what is called virtual wall. That is no go areas. 2 virtual walls actually. There are times you don’t want your automatic vacuum cleaner running into places you don’t want it to. The 630 romba can only create 1 virtual wall while the Neato has no such technology.

Special Features.

The iRobot Romba 770 and 630 come with what they call the idapt responsive cleaning technology. iAdapt is iRobot’s advanced system of software and sensors that allows Roomba to clean more of your room, more thoroughly. It ensures Roomba vacuums every section of your room multiple times, cleaning areas you can’t easily reach including under furniture, around everyday obstacles, and along walls. It even avoids stairs and drop-offs, navigates past soft
barriers such as couch skirts, recognizes cords and carpet fringe, and self-adjusts to clean hardwood, carpet, and linoleum.

The Neato XV-21 comes with it’s own RPS technology, the robot uses its laser to see its surroundings and create accurate maps of areas to be cleaned – including furniture, objects and doorways. The robot constantly updates its map of the room, so if a new object is added into the room during a cleaning run, the robot will add it to the map.
